During Teacher Appreciation Week from May 4th to May 8th, we are saying thank you to our teachers who devote their time, energy, and passion to make our children’s lives better. Through encouragement and positive reinforcement, they impart knowledge to our youth and inspire kids of all ages to reach for the stars. Teachers make a difference not only in the classroom, but also in the schools and community, all while impacting families from every part of the world.
How are you showing your appreciation this week or during today, Teacher Appreciation Day? Whether it’s giving your teacher a unique gift like a MOVA Globe, saying thank you in person, or collaborating with your fellow classmates or parents to throw a special event, we hope you take the time to give thanks to your deserving teacher.
In our recent Teacher Appreciation Week contest, we gave you the opportunity to say thank you to the teacher of your choice via an essay submission. We received many great entries, all which were incredibly thoughtful and heartfelt. Congratulations to Erin for her winning entry! Below are some excerpts from various submissions to show how our teachers are so important in our lives:
“…Her classroom motto, do your best and forget the rest, inspires confidence and a love for learning in every child she teaches. I see her on the campus often, and most days she is bombarded with former students seeking her out to say hello or give her a hug.”
-Erin on Miss Rapczynski, Alice Birney Elementary (San Diego, CA) (Winning entry!)
“…She will continue to be a great teacher because she knows each student has the potential to be a great person.”
-Linda on Ms. Davidson, Academy Charter School (Hempstead, NY)
“…[She] strives to continuously improve her teaching practice. Her work touches the school, the community, and the students, leaving her positive influence on all she encounters, her efforts truly reach beyond the classroom walls.”
-Bonnie on Ms. Jones, STEM Academy (East Orange, NJ)

From the entire MOVA team, thank you to all teachers for everything you do for your students, school, and the community.
