Video Transcript:
Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter.
Born March 30, 1853. He created about 2,100 artworks in a span of about a decade, and it included 860 oil paintings.
During the mental breakdown, Van Gogh actually cut off his left ear, which led him to voluntarily enter an asylum in southern France.
So while Van Gogh was in the asylum, he was allowed to have his paint. Actually, his brother Theo actually encouraged him to keep painting while he was in the asylum, and they allowed him to.
So he painted one of the most beautiful things. He painted Irises as well as the Starry Night, um, like this MOVA Globe here.
Fun fact! Starry Night depicts the view from his asylum window. The more you know, bye.
